Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !
Cheers to all good things in 2017 .
So these are some christmas cards I watercolored for my family.
I haven’t done watercolor in some time, due to my obsession with silkscreen. It was nice to get back to my old washy roots. Merry Christmas!
My sister kept saying how she wishes she was in Las Vegas of Christmas. So, I did the best I could with this one. I especially loved drawing that show girl, I see a possible promotion idea in my future…
Me and my guy are saving up for a trip to Hawaii, so I made him a Mele Kalikimaka card!
This card was for my boyfriends family. I made them a gift basket with all sorts of pasta and delicious treats. I love the simplicity of this one.
Peace, Love, Joy, and Christmas Cards,
Hello! So yesterday I traveled many miles to The Printmaking Center of NJ– and had a fantastic day. So I thought I’d re-live it today, and share it with you!
The PCNJ has a small, but wonderful silkscreen studio workspace. (especially if you’ve been using your bathroom shower to rinse out your screens!)
Would you look at the exposure unit! I mean, COME ON. It’s beautiful…I exposed a screen in 46 seconds! 46 SECONDS! I’ve never heard of such a thing!
Inks and other messy things I love! look at the TUB of acrylic silkscreen ink! it’s like a paint can!
I learned how to use a vacuum table! Which I never did before, that’s amazing.
What printmaking session would be complete without a green juice on hand! Just don’t mix it up with your ink!
I felt like I was back at school, listening to Led Zeppelin on a static-y radio, while printing. ( I did miss my friends walking in though!) Regardless, What a wonderful day!
Here’s how my vegetable christmas cards came out.
I’m a little rusty on getting my prints properly registered, practice makes perfect! I hope you enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures from yesterday. I think this is a start to a beautiful friendship between me and that exposure unit.
turnip the joy,
While I’m usually a grumpy Grinch this time of year, I decided to just embrace the crazy for once. In doing so, I have gone a little Christmas-Crazy early.
For the past week I’ve been printing some Christmas cookies for a promo-postcard …and here it is!
My hands a dry and cracked from all the time I spent cleaning out screens in the sink. It was well worth it! I’m so happy with this card, I can’t wait to get it in the mail in a week or so!
Now it’s time to clean up the studio… and start sketching to update my website.
What a mess
little tiny paper clippings!
Peace and Pizzelles,
