Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !
Cheers to all good things in 2017 .
Here are few cards I made this holiday season. After a LONG hiatus, It feels really good to pick up the paintbrush again.
This one I made for my Sister. She likes a good cocktail.
This one was for my Dad. I have some great memories of picking out christmas trees over the years in our family pick-up truck.
This one I made for my future mother-in-law. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. The simple design is really nice, consider the imitation as flattery.
I hope to paint, draw, write and silkscreen again in 2016.
This year has been a bit of a whirlwind . Since MoCCa 2014 (my last huge creative endeavor), I have gotten and left two full-time job, started back at school, worked some freelance and got engaged! Starting in the Fall of 2016 I will be attending graduate school pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. As I am still collecting acceptances I’m not sure where I’ll be pursuing my Doctorate, but I hope to be as creative as I can be wherever I end up.
Cheers to a happy, healthy, creative, and fun 2016,
So these are some christmas cards I watercolored for my family.
I haven’t done watercolor in some time, due to my obsession with silkscreen. It was nice to get back to my old washy roots. Merry Christmas!
My sister kept saying how she wishes she was in Las Vegas of Christmas. So, I did the best I could with this one. I especially loved drawing that show girl, I see a possible promotion idea in my future…
Me and my guy are saving up for a trip to Hawaii, so I made him a Mele Kalikimaka card!
This card was for my boyfriends family. I made them a gift basket with all sorts of pasta and delicious treats. I love the simplicity of this one.
Peace, Love, Joy, and Christmas Cards,
So when I saw this week Illustration Friday word was “pattern” I got so excited. A few days ago I was figuring out how to make a pattern repeat correctly in photoshop! What a coincidence. I made this little mini print of waffles! not just any waffles, christmas time waffles!
With some finagling, I got the print to repeat in photoshop! Good golly gosh!
…This was something I never do, but had fun figuring it all out.
I had something else FESTIVE planned to do with this pattern, and I wanted to put it in this post, but I’m running short on time tonight! So hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be able to post my use for this pattern! (hint- it’s a festive use, but I’m not wrapping a present with it!)
In other news, I finally finished the illustration for last weeks word “refrain”.
thank you for reading/looking,
peace, love, and syrup,
I’ve got a jam-packed couple of weeks ahead of me! Every year (for the past two years), I illustrate The 12 Days of Christmas, either 12 days leading up to the holiday, or the 12 days after (until little christmas). With all the chaos of the holidays I don’t know why I subject myself to making so much work in a matter of 12 days, but I do it.
In 2011, I made watercolor illustrations of the classic twelve days from the song.
In 2012, I turned each day into something I like, a ukulele, a few juicers, and some record players. (see the entire collection here)
This year I’m planning something a little different, a little out of my comfort zone, but totally HANNAH (I pinky promise). Please check back here as we approach the most wonderful, crazy, chaotic time of year! I’ll be here, with ink on my fingers to put a smile on your face!
Partridges and Pear Trees,
While I’m usually a grumpy Grinch this time of year, I decided to just embrace the crazy for once. In doing so, I have gone a little Christmas-Crazy early.
For the past week I’ve been printing some Christmas cookies for a promo-postcard …and here it is!
My hands a dry and cracked from all the time I spent cleaning out screens in the sink. It was well worth it! I’m so happy with this card, I can’t wait to get it in the mail in a week or so!
Now it’s time to clean up the studio… and start sketching to update my website.
What a mess
little tiny paper clippings!
Peace and Pizzelles,
